REMASTER: remibrutinib is being studied in secondary progressive MS

Published by MyelinWatch:

REMASTER (remibrutinib) · REMASTER is a Phase 3 study testing whether the oral drug remibrutinib is effective and safe for people with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (MS). Participants are assigned to remibrutinib or placebo in the blinded main part of the study.

What is the approach?

Remibrutinib inhibits Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK), a protein involved in immune-cell signalling. The trial tests its clinical effect and safety in secondary progressive MS; a proposed mechanism does not prove benefit.

What we know so far

The EU CTIS record, last checked on 25 October 2026, reported Greek country recruitment starting 18 September and named seven centres. The ClinicalTrials.gov update posted 13 October lists REMASTER overall as accepting participants and six Greek location rows labelled only “Novartis Investigative Site”. No results are posted in that REMASTER ClinicalTrials.gov record. Recruitment and location information do not establish benefit, safety or myelin repair in MS.

What this means for patients today

A person with secondary progressive MS may wish to discuss REMASTER because it tests whether remibrutinib can delay disability progression; taking part helps answer that question. No REMASTER results are posted, and the blinded main part assigns participants to remibrutinib or placebo, so neither receiving the experimental drug nor personal benefit is assured. At the 25 October CTIS check, Greece was listed as accepting participants and seven centres were named, but the relevant centre must confirm current enrolment and eligibility; no available place is guaranteed. Study participation is not approved treatment access, and Greek commercial availability or reimbursement for this use is not established.

Greek centres and contacts

At its 25 Oct 2026 check, the EU trial register named Greek centres and reported recruiting for Greece as a country. ClinicalTrials.gov and Novartis show Greek location rows under generic site labels; these rows have not been matched one-to-one to the named EU centres. Contact a centre to confirm current enrolment, eligibility and contact details; the country status does not confirm that every listed centre is enrolling.

REMASTER: the EU register reports recruitment starting in Greece

The EU REMASTER record lists Greece as a country accepting participants, with a reported start on 18 September 2026. It names seven Greek centres. REMASTER compares remibrutinib with placebo in secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (MS). The date is a country-level registry report, not proof that every centre began accepting people on that day.
