What happened
Baseline median SSEP Z-scores were 3.83 for exercise and 2.87 for education, with 16 participants per group. Week-24 medians were 3.22 and 1.92, with 14 exercise and 15 education participants. No statistical comparison between the groups is posted.
What this means for people with MS
Somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP) record the nervous system’s electrical response to sensory stimulation. These are separate medians, not individual changes or estimates of an exercise effect. They do not establish benefit to patients or remyelination. No established approved treatment in clinical practice has been proven to reliably restore myelin in MS.
